AAF System

AAF Function Description

  • The AAF (Active Air Flap) system is a mechanism that opens and closes between the radiator grille and the radiator.
  • It closes for improved fuel efficiency during high-speed driving and opens to reduce the internal temperature when the engine compartment overheats.

Fuel Efficient and
CO2 Emission

A smart actuator is installed with an openable flap inside the vehicle's bumper and grille to open/close the flap based on vehicle status and driving conditions.

System Effects

Improves fuel efficiency by 2.3% by controlling engine temperature and adjusting air resistance, and reduces CO2 emissions by 15% by shortening the engine warm-up time.
